Dahlia Black is a hip hop artist born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She has been performing since the age of 13 and has been involved in the local music scene for the last few years. She has grown her digital audience while perfecting her craft over the years and she is now ready to take her career to a more national level.
Dahlia is a Hip Hop MC. Period. She’s versatile enough to roll with the street hustlers and still stand amongst the millionaires with ease. She is very much a lady, but far from being soft or a pushover. Her music has the ability to touch people from all around because it comes from a place of pain; mistakes and life’s experiences. Dahlia is the female MC that is not afraid to be vulnerable and remain authentic while being relatable.
Some of Dahlia’s musical influences are: MC Lyte, Veda, Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, Cormega, AZ, Beanie Sigel, Tupac, NWA, Jeezy, Yo Gotti, Yo-Yo, Queen Latifah, Da Brat, Remy Ma, and a host of other hip-hop artists. Jay Z is her favorite.
Dahlia has performed for 50 Cent and Eminem in 2003 at the Delta Plex in Grand Rapids, Michigan, both Detroit artist Payroll at the 36th street lounge, and Kashdoll at the Orbit Room in March of 2017. More recently she has Kiah in 2019 and Pezzy in 2021 and continues to perform locally. Her first album “Reverse Effect” was released in 2007. Dahlia Black has several songs on Youtube that include “Go Get It”, “Getting Lit”, ”Drug”, “What You Want”, “Bottled”, “He’s Mine, and the list goes on.
Dahlia delivers an original sound with a style of her own. She has a natural love for music and it’s definitely something that’s missing in the game. Be on the look-out for the single release “Big Steppa”and her sophomore album Legendary Hindsight Out Now!!!
